So…I don’t boast about it much, but posting the Poetry Crisis Line twice a week requires an encyclopedic knowledge of poetry. Or an Internet connection. I have one of these things.
Apparently, though, I sometimes forget which one. So when I found out May 11 was Salvador Dalí’s 116th birthday and Irving Berlin’s 132nd, I figured I’d honor both of them, and I sketched out a 4-page script before finding out that the lyricist for The Wizard of Oz was Harold Arlen.
